We only accept cash payments for workshop services.
When do the classes take place?
The majority of our cut, style, and coloring classes take place on Tuesday evening. Appointment hours:
|5:30 pm||5:00 pm|
|7:30 pm||7:30 pm|
We also offer classes on Tuesday or Wednesday during daytime hours as trainees progress to the advanced stage of their training. Typically appointments are from 9 am to 5 pm. Please call for availability and pricing.
We often hold specialized training sessions on Monday. We always announce these classes on our website.
Where do the classes take place?
All classes take place at the Salon Buzz River North location: 310 West Superior, Chicago IL 60654.
Who will be cutting or coloring my hair?
Junior stylists and colorists who are in our training program. All trainees are cosmetology graduates and hold a current Illinois cosmetology license. Trainees are supervised by senior stylists/colorists from our team. If you participate in our special Monday training sessions, you will probably have a more senior member work on your hair.
What types of coloring services do you offer in the training program?
At the Salon Buzz color workshop, we offer all color services as offered at the regular Salon Buzz color services menu. Please see the Salon Buzz menu of services for complete listing of color services offered.
Can I just get a trim?
All models have to be open to some kind of change which will be agreed upon during the consultation. Trims are not available at the Salon Buzz workshop.
Do I need to wash my hair before the appointment?
No. All appointments include shampooing and conditioning.
How long will my appointment take?
This is a training session so it will take longer than a regular appointment in our salons. We ask that you plan on being with us from 1 to 3 hours depending on the service you are receiving. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled time.
Can I purchase products at my appointment?
All of our products are available for purchase. Our staff will be more than happy to assist you on choosing the right products for you.
How do I rebook an appointment?
There is no reason to wait. You can book your next appointment at the front desk right after your service is completed or you can call us at your convenience.
How frequently can I rebook?
We ask that you wait 8 weeks between appointments. You are allowed to schedule only one appointment at a time.
If I need to cancel an appointment, can I reschedule?
We are happy to reschedule your appointment for the next available date. As our class is fully booked 3 months in advance, we ask that you give us 48 hours notice for all cancellations.
Will I get a reminder call for my appointment?
Yes, you will receive a reminder call for your appointment the day before your service.
What happens if I don’t show up?
If you fail to arrive to your appointment more than once without a 48-hour notice, you will be disqualified from the Salon Buzz workshop.
What if I arrive late?
If you arrive late we can’t guarantee that we will be able to honor your appointment. We have alternate models who can take your place.
Salon Buzz Workshop Cancellation
The workshop is designed entirely for the training and advancement of the trainees. Salon Buzz reserves the right to cancel class with or without prior notice. Rescheduling your cancelled appointment is based on availability. Due to the high demand of the class, class is booked 3 months in advance; rescheduling your cancelled appointment may not be possible.
